GENERAL QUERIES

How far in advance should I book?

For celebration cakes, I recommend booking at least 2-4 weeks in advance, and 4-6 during busy periods.

Wedding cakes should be booked 6-12 months ahead (or earlier for peak season) to secure your date.

I will endeavour to squeeze in last minute orders if I can, so please contact me ASAP.

How do I order a cake?

Simply submit an enquiry via my website with as much detail as possible — including your date, size, flavour, and any inspiration you may have. I'll then come back to you with availability and a quote. Alternatively, you can contact me via a direct message on my Instagram page @Gerastan.Bakehouse.

Can you copy a cake I've seen online?

I don't recreate other designers' cakes. You are, however, very welcome to send inspiration images — I will use these to understand your style, and then create something unique in my signature style and design.

Do you provide sketches?

For celebration cakes, sketches are not included as standard, but can be added for an additional charge.

For wedding cakes, a full design process is included, with sketches and refinements until you are completely happy with the final design. See my design process page to learn more about this.

Can you recreate AI-generated cakes?

AI cake images are becoming very popular, but many are not physically possible to recreate using real ingredients. I can absolutely take inspiration from these ideas, but designs will always be adapted to ensure they are:

• Structurally sound

• Food-safe

Achievable in real life

What flavours do you offer?

I offer a range of classic and premium made-from-scratch flavours, which can be discussed during the booking process or wedding tasting. Please see my flavour menu page for more info. Or if you have something specific in mind, please get in touch.

Do you offer cake tastings?

Yes — tasting boxes are available for wedding cake bookings and can be arranged during the consultation process.

Do you deliver?

Yes — I offer delivery and set-up for wedding cakes, ensuring everything arrives and is styled perfectly at your venue.

Celebration cakes are typically collection only, unless otherwise agreed.

Can I make changes to my order?

Changes can usually be made up to a certain point, depending on your order and how close it is to your collection date.

Please note that last-minute changes may not always be possible.

Do you offer anything else besides cakes?

Yes! I also offer:

• Cupcakes

• Brownies

• Cookies

• Decorated sugar cookies

• Cakesicles

• Treatboxes

• Dessert tables (for weddings & events)

All are designed to complement your overall needs & aesthetic!

ALLERGEN QUERIES

Do you cater for allergies?

Yes! I am a specialist in gluten free and coeliac-friendly baking (being Coeliac myself), and can also cater for dairy, soya, and nut allergies.

All allergens are handled in line with Food Standards Agency guidance, and full details can be found in my allergen information area. Please ensure all dietary requirements are communicated at the time of enquiry.

PAYMENT QUERIES

Do you require a deposit?

Yes — a non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking. Your date is not confirmed until the deposit has been received.

How much do your cakes cost ?

All cakes are individually priced based on size, design, and level of detail. As a guide, my cakes are designed to be premium, bespoke creations, so pricing reflects the time, skill, and materials involved. Please see my price list page for full details.

Quotes are provided after your enquiry once I understand your requirements.

What happens if I need to cancel?

Deposits are non-refundable as they secure your date and cover initial design and preparation time.

Further details will be outlined in your booking terms.

CAKE CARE QUERIES

How should I transport my cake?

Cakes should always be transported:

• On a flat surface (boot or footwell, not a seat)

• In a cool, air-conditioned car

• With minimal movement

Full care instructions are provided with every order.

How should I store my cake?

Cakes should be stored in the fridge until required, then brought to room temperature before serving for the best flavour and texture. Detailed care instructions will be provided with your cake.

How long will my cake last?

Cakes are best enjoyed within 2-3 days. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge.
